News: Top X-Fight VI 2008

The Jungle BJJ team was once again invited to compete in another Top X-Fight No-Gi Grappling event, "Deň Gladiátora II" (Day of Gladiators II), and this time a few more Jungle BJJ competitors accepted the challenge.  Making his return was Nando, followed by Jungle BJJ blue belt ace Martin, the ever crazy Joo Boy, a flu induced Dizzy, the good Doc Marek, and newbie beginner Hedgehog, who made his competition debute for Jungle BJJ against a Brazilian Gracie Bara instructor from Austria.  How did we do?

1. Bekam (Brazil Combat Austria ) vs. Jerry "Joo Boy" ( Jungle BJJ ) - diskvalifikácia za nepovolený inverted heel hook - výhra Jerry / Disqualifed for illegal inverted heel hook - winner Jerry
(Joo Boy kept getting dominant position until the other fighter utilized an illegal move)

2. Martin ( Jungle BJJ ) vs. Marek Jurkemik ( Gracie Barra Austria ) - 4:43, Triangle Choke - výhra Martin / winner Martin

3. Martin ( Jungle BJJ ) vs. Daniel ( Gracei Barra Austria ) - výhra Martin na body / winner Martin by points
(One of the most technical fights of the night)

4. David „Dizzy“ ( Jungle BJJ ) vs. Rastislav Neu ( 1JCP ) - výhra David na body / winner Dizzy by points
(Dizzy had the flu and still fought, but that was no excuse for his poor use of the Guard ... :P)

5. Hedgehog ( Jungle BJJ) vs. Sandro dos Santos ( Gracie Barra Austria ) - 2:20, Rear Naked Choke - výhra Santos / winner Santos
(Hedgehog put in a valiant effort against a Brazilian BJJ instructor from a good Gracie school, he should be proud)

6. Kamil Chrobák ( MŠK Karviná ) vs. Fernando Araujo ( Jungle BJJ ) - 2:34, Rear Naked Choke - výhra Araujo / winner Araujo

7. Fernando Araujo ( Jungle BJJ ) vs. Peter Michalec ( Nové Mesto Team ) - výhra Araujo na body / winner Araujo by points
(Nando hurt his knee at the beginning of the match ... good job Nando!)

Congratulations to everybody for representing Jungle BJJ in a professional manner and for exhibiting excellent fighting skills.  Big Kudos to Fernando, who was the Slovak Open Weight Division Submission Champion.

Pictures and video coming soon!!!

News: Top X-Fight IV 2008

Print

Jungle BJJ team members Nando, Big Boy, and Panda competed in the Top X-Fight IV No-Gi Grappling (Pictures) event in Pezinok, Slovakia on June 21st, 2008.  Nando competed in two-fights - both victories (1st by arm triangle; 2nd by RNC).  Big Boy needed just a little more than 2 minutes to finish his opponent by RNC.  Panda had a rougher time -- learning a valuable lesson about cardio along the way. :p  Some of the videos can be found in our gallery.   Jungle BJJ would like to thank Nando, Big Boy, and Panda for honorably representing Jungle BJJ and showing their true competitive spirit note to others who weaseled out :p).  Good job guys!
