E-mail

Jungle Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Jungle BJJ) was born with the arrival of Fernando Nascimento Araujo to the Czech Republic in 2005.  Fernando had prevously spent a year in Norway (Oslo) where he taugh BJJ classses and seminars around the country.  When Fernando arrived in the Czech Republic, he noticed a vibrant martial arts community - Muay Thai, Karate, Kick Boxing, Judo, Sambo, Aikido, Jiu-Jitsu.

After a low-profile annoucment of his classes starting at a Prague gym, students from these various martial art schools came for a visit to see what this "Brazilian Jiu-Jitusu" was all about.  They quickly learned that it was a very effective form of Ground based combat that would give them a decisve edge in any self-defense or combat sport ground fighting situation they might find themselsves in.  From that time forward, these students began to flock to Fernado's trainings:  Judo, Muay Thai, Sambo, and other martial art students came to cross-train or dedicate themselves exclusively to BJJ ground fighting technques.

Today, Fernado's student base is growing and BJJ is a rapidly spreading combat martial art in the Czech Republic.  Jungle BJJ students (and Fernando!) regularly participate in touranments around Europe to put their skills to the test.  However, the Jungle BJJ life-philosophy is a simple one:  Train hard and have fun.  Fernando and his students' first goal is to make classes fun and develop a friendly team environment where all welcome -- regardless of what you trained before.  The only thing that matters is that you bring a relaxed and playful attitude trainings and a love for the art of ground based combat.
